What order should one watch the Star Wars movies and why?

What order should one watch the Star Wars movies and why?
I’ve seen all of the Star Wars movie, but say you were going to show someone the series, would you start at IV or I? Why?

This question gets asked a lot and no offense to those who say to watch them in Chronological order (IE: ep 1 – 6 ) but they just don’t get it because that is the absolute worst way to watch them. If you want to enjoy the full experience of the Star Wars saga then I beg you … the only way to watch them is ep IV – VI then ep I – III. Why … well this is just my “theory” but it holds a couple oceans of water.Start with the fact that they were released that way and that is how the story was meant to be told. Watching them this way will also keep the “suspense” in them. Both of the trilogies “tell” on the secrets of the others but the prequels take much of the suspense out of the OT with some of the info learned in them. There is a scene in episode V: The Empire Strikes Back that was voted # 4 by SAG as one of the most shocking revelations in the entire history of film … if you watch them ep I – III then ep IV – VI you will lose the “WTF” value it carried in 1980 because you will already know what it is and it won’t seem like a big deal to you. The problem with that is that this event WAS a big deal to the saga itself. It basically took everything we thought we knew and tossed it into the recycle bin. To this day I remember what happened in the theater I was in to watch this movie for the first time and heard Darth Vader utter 5 words that turned the Star Wars saga upside down … absolute silence … you could have heard a pin drop 10 miles away … we were stunned silent by this “revelation” … this went on for about 10 seconds and then one by one you heard people say, no way … he’s lying … don’t believe him Luke … and it went on until Luke made his decision and then another cheer went up in the crowd. Yeah, that’s the kind of “crazy” we were back then. This trilogy grabbed the people of my generation and said … you think that was cool … watch this. It’s kind of like it was back in the 50s when all the kids were listening to that “Devil Music” called Rock n Roll. It was one of those things that had to be felt not seen. I doubt we will ever seen any movie in any genre that will come close to topping this saga …

There is one other thing to decide also with respect to the OT (ep 4 – ep 6) … there are 3 versions of these movies … the ones that came out to theaters in 77 – 83 … the SE versions that came to theaters in 97 … and the DVD versions that came out in 2004. Is there much difference between the 3 versions … for the most part no. The main thing that was changed was picture quality and sound quality. Lucas did change some scenes and did add some small scenes. I would suggest you watch the DVD versions, as they are the “final” word according to Lucas.

Many people “trash” the prequels, I really can’t abide by that. Even as a true Star Wars Geek I will be the first to admit that the prequels were flawed … at least ep 1 & 2 … personally I thought that ep 3 rocked from start to finish but that’s just me I guess. I really wish that fans would stop and think about just why they didn’t like the prequels and actually say why they don’t like them instead of saying “they suck”. When I stop and do that I come up with 3 main reasons why they weren’t as good as the originals. First, Lucas got too hung up on all the fancy different ways he could blow things up with all the new CGI that they had developed at ILM and forgot that what made Star Wars the iconic saga that it was and will always be … the story itself. Second, is that when Lucas decided to make the prequels he had to do the impossible … make 3 more movies as good as or better than the original trilogy … it couldn’t be done. Third, fan ignorance. With the 16 years in between the trilogies fans had already came up with their own “version” of how these 3 movies would go and when they didn’t match the story in their head if ticked them off to the point that they didn’t like them.Anyways, sorry for the ramble but the Star Wars saga is one of my true passions.. I guess the main thing I’m trying to say is that ep IV – VI then ep I – III is the way to go if you want to feel the true magic of Star Wars.

Why are star wars audio books abridged fiction ?

Tuesday, February 21st, 2012

Why are star wars audio books abridged fiction ?I recently downloaded the audio book “Star Wars: Courtship of Princess Leia” from iTunes and saw that it was abridged.Looking at the rest of the audio books on iTunes I saw that all of the star wars books are abridged. Why is that?

Many audio books, not just Star Wars audio books, are released in an abridged format to condense material to a suitable length.Novels are supposed to be read silently to oneself, which is generally faster than reading aloud. To release a complete version of the novel in audio form would likely last over 20 hours and therefore be very expensive to both the publisher to produce and the consumer to purchase, so instead the publisher will remove anything from small references to entire scenes which are considered superfluous, i.e. they do not move the story along.

What outfit do you get in star wars the force unleashed 2 Sith edition?I entered the code and I’m on the second mission. I only have the clone outfit and the pilot outfit. how do you get the outfit I entered the code for?

if you mean the collector edition then you should get the maulkiller costume and the amplification lightsaber crystals. To redeem the code if you have the xbox 360, you have to first have an xbox live account (Free silver is ok) and then once connected to xbox live, press the xbox menu button and search for redeem code, then put the code in and it shoild download the costume and the crystals right away. then search for the add that says something like maulkiller costume the force unleashed 2 and follow the instructions in there.

About the dark lord armour, you can only get it by buying the character pack in xboxlive or Playstation store, it is about 1 dollar special prize. About the black crystal it is in the mission Kamino the return nearly at the end where there is a holocron at the top of the vents where you can only get by jumping in an object near it. The other is gained after receiving a gold medal in the scout trooper challenge. hope it helps.

How do you choose the sith ending in star wars the force unleashed?

How do you choose the sith ending in star wars the force unleashed?
I have star wars the force unleashed for xbox 360 and I beat the game but I accidentally chose the jedi ending. How can I just replay the part where you choose the ending and choose the sith ending without replaying the entire game?
Well I don’t know if you can choose a level to play with the XBOX, I know with the PS2 you have to restart from the beginning…not that I mind. In any case, you get the sith ending by fighting Darth Vader a second time instead of the Emperor. When the final level starts (after the first Vader fight), you will see Vader on the right and the Emperor on the left. Move towards Vader and you will fight him, which will trigger the sith ending.
How do I get my progress back on star wars the force unleashed?
I was playing star wars the force unleashed, and finally finished the game before I accidentally overwrote the game. How do I get my progress back?
Im afraid you cant. Unless you had a backup save on a memory card or something. I done the exact same thing in oblivion and I was furious.

Is star wars prequel trilogy ever coming to blu ray?

How do i convince my parents to let me buy star wars battlefront elite squadron.?
Ok i really want star wars battlefront elite squadron and my parents won’t let me get it. It’s mostly my mom she thinks star wars is bad and everything. My dad would let me get it if my mom says yes but she won’t. I’ts not that she’s entirery against shooters because I have medal of honor heroes 2 but as i said she doesn’t like star wars. How do i convince them to let me get it ?

Tell her that while she might not like star wars you are very interested in the concept of the future and love the idea of being able to play a game that lets you play in the future.. Also look up information about the game so your mom thinks you have really thought out your decision. Its all about confidence.

Is star wars prequel trilogy ever coming to blu ray?
I want it on blu ray I won’t buy it until that happens . I only want the star wars with anakin not the old one.
The only SW movie that is out on Blu-Ray is the Animated Clone Wars movie … I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for the others to come out on that format. Lucas and many others in “Hollywood” are not sold on Blu-Ray becoming the next big thing … there are also many who think it is a dead format. Personally I would go with the “dead” idea but I’m not “full in” on that yet. Don’t get me wrong, Blu-Ray does have much better picture quality and sound but not enough to justify the added cost of the player and new home theater equipment. There are tons of other “pros” & “cons” for this but going into that rant wouldn’t serve any purpose in regards to your question.

I wouldn’t look for SW to be on Blu-Ray, if ever, until after Lucas has brought all 6 movies back to theaters in a true 3-D format. Most “rumors” point to this happening in 2012 but again … I wouldn’t hold my breath.

What Star Wars book should I start with?

What Star Wars book should I start with?
I’m trying to get into the star wars books. In your opinion what series or book should I start with?

The Truce at Bakura would be a good starting point, because it begins the day after Return of the Jedi. From there, I would go to the Courtship of Princess Leia, then maybe to Tatooine Ghost (If you like Han and Leia) and then to the Thrawn Trilogy by Timothy Zahn. I, personally, did not enjoy the Thrawn Trilogy because it was very complicated. In that particular trilogy, they introduce a lot of new characters and start to move towards really deep-space Extended Universe stuff. However, the Thrawn Trilogy is a vital gateway towards a lot of the Extended Universe books about Han and Leia’s children.

If you are looking for a simple, fun read, I would head in the opposite direction, and read the Han Solo Trilogy by A.C. Crispin. The Han Solo trilogy consists of The Paradise Snare, The Hutt Gambit, and Rebel Dawn. It tells the story of Han’s life from the time he was 17, right up until Episode 4. It explains things like how Han and Lando came to be friends, how Han won the Millenium Falcon, and how Chewbacca came to owe Han a life debt. It deals with some of Han’s early girlfriends, and kind of describes his bachelor life. I would reccommend it because of how closely it matches up with the star wars trilogy.

I posted the wikipedia link for every Star Wars book ever written- I would reccommend finding some of thse titles and reading the synopsis Wikipedia provides. In the back of some of the older Star Wars books, like the Courtship of Princess Leia, there is a list of Star Wars books as well. The list is older and outdated, but it’s a little easier than wading your way through the wikipedia list.

Who is the author of the star wars books that take place after the original 3 movies?

Who is the author of the star wars books that take place after the original 3 movies?
Does anyone know what im talking about? In the books luke has re-established the jedi order, han and leia have kids who are jedi, get the picture? Im not sure if there is more then one book series on star wars so can anyone help me?
There is no one author of the Star Wars books that take place after the OT … there are many. Also, just in case you didn’t know, Lucas has never written a book in his entire life. When it comes to the Star Wars EU (Expanded Universe of books & comics) Lucas has a select “pool” of top notch Sci-Fi authors to write in the EU … a few of them are as follows: Timothy Zahn, Kevin J. Anderson, Michael Stackpole, Matt Stover, Aaron Allston, Troy Denning, James Luceno.

While there are many “book series” on Star Wars they are ALL part of one basic time line of events … they aren’t like the Star Trek books that don’t even have to make sense to be called Star Trek.

All the books of the Star Wars EU, while not written by, much get the OK of Lucas before they are published as he is the one who calls the shots in this galaxy he has created. The following link will take you to a time line of the books from Del Rey books … the official publisher of SW books:

How do you enter cheats in Star Wars Force Unleashed 1 on PS2?
My little brother is trying to enter the cheats on the first Star Wars Force Unleashed, but we can’t find the spot to enter them at. Can anyone help?

Do the followin to enter cheats ! Successfully complete the first mission. Pause the game, and select the “Input Code” option. Then, enter one of the following codes to activate the corresponding cheat function. Alternately, successfully complete the first mission. After gaining access to the Rogue Shadow, you will have the ability enable cheat codes. While on board your ship between missions, select “Extras”, then the “Enter Code” option.

Note: Enabling a costume code may prevent some intermissions sequences from being viewed. The game cannot be saved when non-costume codes are enabled. To bypass this, reach a checkpoint in a new area after enabling the code(s), then intentionally die, exit to the main menu, and select “Continue”. You can now manually save your game with the code(s) still in effect.

What is the order of the Star Wars Jedi knight game series?

In which Star Wars book does Luke become the clone emperor’s apprentice?
I’ve read a lot of the Star Wars Books, 48 to be exact. Some of them make reference to Luke being the clone emperor’s apprentice aboard his flagship, and a pregnant Leia coming to bring him back. What is the name of these books?

It wasn’t a book, but actually three comic series. Dark Empire, Dark Empire 2, and Empire’s End. If you look at a comic store you can probably find a collection of the all of a series in one book. I believe Dark Empire was the one in which Luke served as the Emperor’s apprentice.

What is the order of the Star Wars Jedi knight game series?
There’s a series of games with the beginning title “Star Wars Jedi knight”. There are several…
Jedi Outcast, Jedi Academy, Knights of the Old Republic, Dark Forces, Dark Forces II,etc.
I need to know the order the games are supposed to go in so I can buy/play them in that order.
Thanks! Also if the majority of the games can be played on one system, which one would that be?

These are two different series. You have Dark Forces, Dark Forces II, Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast, Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy (all in that order) comprising one series. The first was released in 1995 and the last in 2003, so the first two or three games may look very dated and you may have trouble getting it to work on a modern PC. However, they all can be played on PC (only the last two can be played on Xbox), and the later ones still look pretty good. You don’t have to play the series from the beginning either if you’d rather not.

Knights of the Old Republic (and Knights of the Old Republic 2) is a completely different series with different gameplay, set several thousand years before the movies and with no connection at all to Jedi Knight. They’re both RPG’s as opposed to the more actiony/adventury/shootery style of the Jedi Knight games, and came out on both Xbox and PC.

Was the Star Wars the Phantom Menace DVD different from the theatrical release?

Monday, February 13th, 2012

Was the Star Wars the Phantom Menace DVD different from the theatrical release?
Okay, I watched Star Wars 1 The Phantom Menace on DVD. It didn’t quite match my recollection from when I saw it in the theater.
Like, I think about two minutes or so of over-the-top Jar Jar were removed from when Qui Gon first meets Jar Jar.
I think about ten seconds of Gungans dancing at the triumphant parade were removed too.

Am I right or just crazy?

For the DVDS
Several deleted scenes are added into the film.
Several introductions of other racers are included
Footage of the second lap in the Pod Race is reinserted
Removal of a scene of Watto screaming “SEBULBA!”
A scene is added of Jar-Jar and Anakin speaking after their arrival into Courscant.
For the Blu-rays:
Scene composition affected by image magnification in the original DVD release was restored.
The puppet version of Yoda was replaced with a CGI version as in Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.
An effects error causing Fode and Beed’s hand to pass through their vest was fixed.
Right after Jabba the Hutt’s introduction before the pod race a new voice is heard from a spectator when the camera is focused on the crowd.

These are the only changes made, nothing of Jar Jar or Gungans was removed.

Where from is theme played just before the Star Wars theme at the Oscars?
At this years Academy Awards, just before the announcement of the best original score winner, an orchestra played several themes from various movies, beginning with that of Star Wars.

My question is, what’s the theme that played just before the orchestra started playing the Star Wars theme? It’s sounds so familiar, and I believe it’s a theme you quite often heard on videotapes, back when dvds didn’t exist, but I can’t figure out what image came with the sound.

How do you make a star wars spaceship?
I need ideas on how to create a star wars spacecraft. What materials should I use? Cardboard? I’m gonna have to make this pretty big; at least 6 feet long. How can I make this waterproof? Durable? Pleeease help.

here are several spacecrafts from star wars movies, and any recyclable materials may be used, tin cans, plastic containers, and cardboard and juice boxes, from those type of materials you can design and cut out pieces for craft/ship, and glue together, with hot glue gun, krazy glue, white glue, and tape, even parts from other trinkets around the house , like old model kit parts, nuts and bolts, and toy bracelet kits, make basic frame, then glue on pieces to shell of frame, paint over with gray and other coloured pin stripes, there are limits to what is durable like paper and usage, so try to use plastic mostly, and glue well, have fun,
